Sloth bear trapped in 40-foot deep well, rescued following hours of marathon effort

A sloth bear was rescued from a 40-foot well after five hours of relentless effort.
The incident occurred in Daheli village, in Nanded district, in southern India’s Maharashtra, on March 22.

Visuals show a sloth bear was lifted out of a deep well using a cage and a crane. Seeing the incident, people from the surrounding area rushed to the spot.
In an interview with Newslions, Assistant Conservator of Forests Ganesh Giri said that the well was 40 feet deep and near a forest area. Under the leadership of Sub-Conservator of Forests Keshav Wable and with the dedicated efforts of Forest Range Officers Pramod Rathod and Amol Kashikar, along with the Mandvi Forest Range team, a sloth bear was successfully rescued from a well in Daheli village.
The operation, which took place within the Mandvi Range, lasted five hours and required relentless effort from the entire team.
