Lady constable saves man from train platform Suicide in eastern India

A lady constable bravely intervened and saved the life of a man in eastern India’s West Bengal who was attempting to commit suicide.
The incident took place at the Railway station of Mecheda on June 2.
Visuals showed a man was waiting on the platform for train to come and when he noticed that the train is coming he got down and lay down on the track but suddenly a lady constable noticed him and without delay she rescued the person and saved his life as one mail express train passed the said track within a second.
The constable is identified as Sumathi.
On enquiry, it was learnt the name and address of person as Debashis Maity, aged about 55 yrs, S/O- Amalendu Maity, R/O- Uttar Katal, PS- Panskura, Dist.-Purba Medinipur.
Matter has been informed to his family member, accordingly the wife and son of the rescued person came to RPF Post, Mecheda and handed over the rescued person to his family member in sound condition, his wife and son gave lots of thanks for the splendid job done by the lady constable.
