Police bust fake currency racket in southern India, six arrested
Six people have been arrested after their alleged involvement in a fake currency racket came to the fore in Southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.
The incident happened in the Anandapuram police station of Visakhapatnam district on May 2.
Visuals feature several bundles of fake currencies stacked on the counter after the officials seize all the counterfeit notes from the accused. Along with the fake currency, Fake gold coins, Mobile phones, Laptops, and knives can also be seen.
N.Malleswara Roa, Vishakhapatnam City Task Force Circle Inspector, informed T.V Tirupati Rao Cl, Anandapuram Police Station, on the reliable information received their staff went to Bhimili crossroad Check Post along with the mediators and while checking the car, a scooter, and two bikes, six people were taken into custody.
While checking the vehicle they confiscated Fake notes of face value Rupees 10 Lakhs (USD 11.995.33), 24 Fake Gold biscuits & 92 Fake Gold Coins, black coated 500 notes, 7 SIM cards,3 ATM cards, 23 cellphones, three knives, a rice pooling bowl, and a laptop.
The Six accused, who were arrested, were identified as Gorla Hema Chandra Rao, Janna Sunil, Hari Srinu, Kunuku Hamant Gum Kumar, Mangalapudi Subba Reddy, Danala.
