Swift action of official prevents tragedy as passenger slips while boarding train

While boarding the Saharsa-Purnia train, a passenger got stuck, facing grave danger. Showing remarkable courage, Head Constable Nabi Rasool, posted at the local junction, risked his life to rescue the passenger.

The incident took place in Purnea Junction under Katihar Railway Division, in Purnea district, in northern India’s Bihar, on April 25.

 

 

Visuals show a passenger suddenly slipped and got trapped between the train and platform, risking a serious accident. Showing fearless commitment to duty, a railway personnel swiftly intervened, pulling the passenger to safety and preventing a tragedy through his brave and timely action.

 

 

Speaking to Newslions, Md. Shoaib Alam Khan, Inspector RPF Purnia, Katihar division, stated that the train number 75261 Purnea-Saharsa DEMU was departing from platform one, a passenger slipped and got dangerously trapped between the train and platform, risking a major accident. Acting with unwavering dedication, Head Constable Nabi Rasul, on duty at the time, bravely intervened and rescued the passenger, preventing a potential tragedy.

 

This incident was captured on the station’s CCTV cameras, showcasing the swift and effective action of the staff. Head Constable Nabi Rasool, stationed at Purnia Junction, performed a commendable act by risking his own life to save the passenger, demonstrating the RPF’s (Railway Protection Force) deep commitment to both duty and humanity.

It is important to highlight that the security personnel under the Katihar Railway Division have consistently set examples through their admirable efforts. The Railway Protection Force has rescued passengers on multiple occasions within the Katihar Division. Recently, RPF personnel swiftly saved a woman who fell from the Radhikapur-Katihar passenger train between Kuretha and Mania stations.

In another instance, RPF officers rescued an elderly couple suffocating in a crowded area at Katihar station. Now, once again, RPF has proven its dedication by preventing another passenger from falling off a moving train.
