Two terrorists killed in ongoing encounter with security forces in northern India
In an ongoing encounter with security forces, two terrorists have been killed in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident took place in the Hadipora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on June 19.
According to reports, the operation began early Wednesday and continues as security forces search the area for additional threats.
A top police officer confirmed to a local news agency that the terrorists were killed by security forces, though their identities have yet to be determined. The encounter started when the joint team of forces intensified their searches towards a suspected hideout, prompting the hiding terrorists to open fire, leading to a gunfight.
During the exchange, an army soldier and a policeman were injured. Both were promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where medical staff reported their condition as stable.
