In a dramatic midnight operation in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh, police intercepted a lorry transporting Rs. 8.5 crores. The seizure, reminiscent of a movie plot, involved a unique method of money transfer.

The incident took place at Garikapadu check post, NTR district on May 9.

Visuals showed the police team gathered around a substantial quantity of cash, diligently counting each stack as they investigated further.

Speaking to Newslions, SI Satish Kumar said that authorities in NTR District, particularly at Garikapadu of Jaggayyapet mandal, were alerted to suspicious activities late last night. Acting swiftly, police intercepted a lorry suspected of ferrying illicit goods. Upon inspection, they discovered a staggering Rs. 8.5 crores (USD 1,017,945.55) concealed within the vehicle.

What made this operation particularly intriguing was the modus operandi employed by the perpetrators. Mimicking a tactic straight out of a movie, a platform had been ingeniously arranged under the lorry, facilitating the transfer of the large sum of money.

Two individuals have been detained in connection with the incident and are currently undergoing interrogation by law enforcement officials. Among them, one identified as Pushpa was apprehended in the act of moving the cash, showcasing a level of audacity reminiscent of fictional heist scenarios.

This seizure underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal activities and financial crimes in the region. Further investigations are underway to unravel the full extent of the operation and to bring all involved parties to justice.
