Army, cops, rescue officials save 730 trapped girl students amid heavy rainfall in northern India

The army along with police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) came to the rescue of 730 girl students who were trapped in a school building after heavy rainfall led to the area being flooded in northern India’s Haryana.

This happened in the Chaman Vatika Kanya Gurukul in Ambala on July 10.

Visuals showed the rescue operation underway. The officials held out ropes which the girl students held on to while making their way towards safety through the flooded path. The road was completely inundated with rainwater and the girl students queued up with the rope as support. These students were then sent home with the help of buses. According to a report, rainfall battered northern India with several areas being flooded.

Normal life has been left affected as a result of this heavy rainfall which has caused several roads and bridges to collapse and wash away. It was also learnt that the local administration informed the police, the NDRF and the army to come to the aid of these girl students.
