Bear spotted at pedestrian trail in temple in southern India

A bear was spotted at the Alipiri-Tirumala pedestrian trail in the Tirumala temple, located in Tirupati district of southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.

This happened on August 1.

Visuals showed the omnivore entering the area. It then slid between the gaps of a railing that was there before going out of the place and into the dark. The bear slowly walked into the forest area next to the place where it had strayed into. Fortunately, there weren’t any devotees in this place during this time. Devotees use this place to climb the hills towards Tirumala.

This incident rekindles fears of animals entering this area after a leopard had attempted to snatch and drag away a three-year-old into the forest.
