Bomb threat prompts emergency evacuation on flight in northern India

Passengers on IndiGo flight 6E2211 from Delhi to Varanasi were evacuated through the emergency doors early this morning following a bomb threat in northern India’s Delhi.

The incident took place in Delhi on May 28.

Visuals showed how the cabin crew was helping the passengers to evacuate along with the pilots.

According to the reports at 5:35 AM, a tissue paper with the word “bomb” written on it was discovered in the plane’s lavatory.

Security forces, including the Quick Response Team (QRT) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), quickly responded to the incident. The aircraft was moved to an isolation bay for a thorough inspection by aviation security and a bomb disposal unit. Fortunately, the threat was deemed a hoax, and all passengers were safely evacuated without injury.

IndiGo has confirmed that all necessary safety protocols were followed. The flight remains under inspection, and normal operations will resume after all security checks are completed.
