Chaos ensued during the final wrestling match of a tournament offering a prize of two lakh rupees in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, as a dispute between two wrestlers escalated into a physical altercation.

The incident took place in the Semra village area under the jurisdiction of the Khandauli in Agra on April 25.

Visuals showed amidst the final round of the wrestling match, a sudden eruption of violence between the wrestlers ensued, engulfing the arena in a whirlwind of chaos. Supporters from both sides flooded the arena, their shouts blending with the clanging of metal and the thud of bodies colliding.

In a dramatic turn of events at a wrestling tournament held in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, the final match worth two lakh rupees descended into chaos as tensions flared between the competing wrestlers. Bharat Kesari Harikesh Tomar and Rameshwar Shamshabad, the contenders vying for the lucrative prize, found themselves embroiled in a heated dispute during the intense bout.

Spectators at the event, held in the Semra village area under the jurisdiction of the Khandauli police station, witnessed the situation quickly spiral out of control as the wrestlers engaged in a physical altercation in the middle of the arena. Supporters from both sides rushed into the fray, exacerbating the commotion and threatening to disrupt the proceedings entirely.

Upon receiving reports of the disturbance, law enforcement authorities swiftly intervened to restore order. Police officers managed to separate the brawling wrestlers and their respective supporters, bringing an end to the tumultuous scene. As a result of the altercation, the organizing committee made the decision to cancel the final match, much to the disappointment of the attendees.

According to Saurabh Chauhan, the chairman of the fair committee, the cancellation was deemed necessary in light of the brawl that had erupted during the highly anticipated match. Station in-charge Rajiv Kumar revealed that prior tensions between the wrestlers had contributed to the confrontation, ultimately leading to the premature end of the tournament.

In the aftermath of the incident, both wrestlers and their supporters were escorted out of the venue, and the wrestling tournament was abruptly brought to a close. Legal action is expected to be taken following the filing of formal complaints regarding the altercation, signaling a potentially contentious aftermath to the tournament’s unexpected conclusion.
