A car ran over a toddler who was asleep in a parking lots in southern India’s Telangana.

This unfortunate incident took place in the Teacher’s Colony of Hayathnagar, in Hyderabad on May 24.

CCTV footage showed the chilling moment of the tragedy when the car, entering the parking lot, crushed the child who was asleep on the floor. According to a report, the child was a three-year-old named Laxmi and she was made to rest in the parking lot by her mother Kavita. Kavita and her husband, along with Laxmi and their seven-year-old son had moved to Hyderabad for better employment opportunities. Both work as construction labourers.

Kavita had made Laxmi fall asleep on the floor of the parking lot in an attempt to protect her from the scorching heat. The driver has been identified as Rama Krishna, who didn’t notice the child and drove his car over her. It was learnt that the car crushed the child’s head which caused her death.

An investigation has been launched into this matter by the Hayathnagar police.
