Chilling moment 14-storey under-construction parking lot collapses in western India due to heavy rainfall

A tower collapsed in western India’s Maharashtra after heavy rainfall and strong wind

This incident happened in Shreeji Tower in Wadala, Mumbai on May 13.

Visuals showed the chilling moment when the under-construction parking lot collapsed due to heavy rains with gusty winds.

The rains that have been going on for the past hour have caused havoc in Mumbai.

According to the report, the construction being made for car parking adjacent to Shreeji Tower has collapsed. At present, the fire brigade and rescue team have reached the spot and rescue operation is going on. A car is buried under this tower and it is crushed. Two people were trapped under this tower, and they have been evacuated.

Due to this rain, there have been incidents of trees and hoardings collapsing in many places in Mumbai. It has also affected metro, local and air services in Mumbai.

Heavy rain with gusty winds is forecast over Mumbai and suburbs in the next 3 hours. Wind speed of 40 to 50 km per hour is likely in Mumbai. Therefore, the Meteorological Department has appealed to be careful while going out.
