CISF officials save life of man suffering from cardiac arrest at airport in southern India

Officers of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) saved the life of a man, who suffered from cardiac arrest at an airport in southern India’s Tamil Nadu.

The incident happened at the Chennai International Airport. The video went viral on September 25.

Visuals showed one of the officers repeatedly pumping the body of the man, who suffered from a cardiac arrest. The victim, was identified as a 69-year-old named Shekar Hazra. The officers gave him CPR, which improved the patient’s pulse rate.

Hazra had travelled from Durgapur and upon arriving at the domestic arrival terminal, he had collapsed. The CISF officers, identified as Edwin Sam and assistant sub-inspector K Vaikundam rushed to his rescue.
