Ten workers trapped under a major accident at an under-construction Madrasa in northern India’s Rajasthan.

The incident took place at Sikri Hill Road in the Bharatpur district on May 17.

Visuals showed a rescue operation was underway to extract the trapped workers from under the collapsed building using JCB machines. Surrounding the area, other workers and onlookers were actively involved in the rescue efforts.

The incident claimed the life of one worker, while nine others sustained severe injuries. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police and administration immediately reached the scene and initiated relief and rescue operations.

Due to the critical condition of four workers, they were referred to the hospital in Alwar.

A 120-foot long and 30-foot wide courtyard was covered with a tent. Suddenly, heavy rainfall started and the work of putting up the tent was halted for an hour. After the rain stopped, the work on the tent was resumed. By late Wednesday evening, approximately 3 feet of the tent installation was left, and only a few workers were still working while others had gone to wash their hands and face.

Suddenly, the pegs that were holding the tent got stuck in the ground, causing the tent to collapse. Several workers were trapped under it. Immediate rescue work was initiated, and the trapped workers were freed from under the tent.
