Devotees offer prayers to the sun while standing in knee-deep foam in northern India

Devotees offered prayers to the sun on the religious occasion of Chhath Puja while standing in knee-deep foam in northern India’s Delhi.

This happened at the Kalindi Kunj in Noida on November 19.

Visuals showed the devotees standing in the knee-deep water which was completely covered with foam. The foam had seemingly encompassed the whole water body but that didn’t stop these devotees from fulfilling the rituals on the occasion of Chhath Puja. Going down into the water they offered pr to the sun while their bodies were half-covered with the foam that had gathered all over the place. According to a report, this toxic foam in the Yamuna river is because of the phosphate, which is responsible for causing some serious breathing as well as skin problems.

Delhi has been suffering from poor air quality in the last few weeks with officials taking several measures to make the air cleaner and breathable.
