Electric scooter catches fire in southern India

This incident happened at the Akashvani junction in Brahmavar taluk of Udupi district on April 1.
Visuals showed the electric scooter on fire by the side of the road. The vehicle erupted in flames and fire came out of its engine and rose to a significant height. Flames also came out of the sides of the vehicle with smoke emanating from the burning two-wheeler. A group of people had gathered in the area where this happened and they kept a safe distance from the scooter.
According to a report, the locals who were present at this spot tried to put out the fire with water but their efforts turned futile. The cause of the fire in the scooter remained unknown though.
