Fatal incident: Biker’s life lost in tree mishap in southern India

The incident took place at Karkala-Padubidri road in Udupi district on July 6.
Visuals showed during heavy rainfall, a sudden lightning strike caused a large tree to fall down. Unfortunately, timing led to a passing motorcyclist being caught under the fallen tree.
The deceased has been identified as Praveen, a native of Sooda, Pilarkhana.
It is said that Praveen was stuck under the tree and died while being taken to the hospital.
The incident left the Karkala-Padubidri state highway completely blocked for several hours. The tree was later cleared by the locals and forest department staff.
Police officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
