Fire officials rescue 19 after blaze erupts at orphanage in northern India

A total of 19 people including 16 children were rescued by the fire officials after a blaze erupted at an orphanage of the Ramakrishna Vivekananda mission trust in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.

This incident happened in Sector 26 of Noida on the night of April 5-6.

Visuals showed firefighters trying their best in a bid to douse the flames and bring the situation under control at the orphanage. After a lot of hard work, the fire could be brought under control.

As per a report, the fire brigade received information about the flames at the orphanage at 2:31 am IST (Indian Standard Time) and they acted promptly by sending two vehicles to the spot. It was learnt that the fire broke out in the store room of the G+1 building and Gautam Buddha Nagar Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar shared that all children, aged between 12-16 years, were safely rescued. Besides these children, there were three caretakers who were saved as well. The exact cause of the fire is not yet known and is being investigated.
