Fire officials rescue pigeon entangled in electric line in southern India
A pigeon rescued by fire officials was entangled in an 11-kilovolt (KV) electric line in southern India’s Kerala.
The incident took place near the Perumbavoor Vegetable Market in Ernakulam district on May 20.
Visuals showed the two officers boarding the fire department bus and using a stick to carefully dislodge the pigeon trapped in the electrical wires. Once freed, they removed the thread entangled around the pigeon’s legs before releasing it into the sky.
The Perumbavoor Fire and Rescue Station team, under the leadership of Grade Assistant Station Officer Eldho T.K., along with members A.M. John, Promod Kumar P.U., San B.S., Manikandan M.K., and Reji, effectively saved a pigeon. Their rescue mission commenced once the KSEB staff arrived and shut down the power line.
