Forest department, police rescue leopard from well in eastern India

A leopard was rescued from a well by the collective efforts of the Forest Department and Charmal police in eastern India’s Odisha.

The incident took place near Hindol ghat under the Charmal range in Sambalpur district on June 8.

Visuals showed a leopard standing inside a well. There was a wooden ladder and a partially submerged bark tied to a rope inside it. The leopard was seen climbing the ladder and coming out of the well. The area was covered with plastic nets to prevent the leopard from escaping.
