Independent candidate arrives to file nomination on camel in western India

Saheb Khan Pathan, an independent candidate in northern Maharashtra, arrived on a camel to file his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections.

This incident happened in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on April 23.

Visuals showed the elderly man sitting on top of a camel. He was received with a warm welcome with one man climbing up to put a garland around his neck. There were several other garlands on his neck already. Pathan then slowly got down the camel and made his way through the sea of people which had gathered in the area. Pathan will contest elections from the Aurangabad constituency, which would be having its votes on May 13, in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
