Junior lineman electrocuted while fixing power lines in southern India

A junior lineman was electrocuted and died on the pole while repairing wires in southern India’s Telangana.

The incident took place at Mallikarjunapalli village in Sangareddy district on May 24.

Visuals showed several people were trying to lower a deceased man from an electric pole. The man’s lifeless body was entangled in the wires, and his limp form hung precariously as the individuals below worked carefully.

In a tragic incident in Sangareddy district, 25-year-old junior lineman Bal Raju was electrocuted while repairing electric wires in Mallikarjunapalli village under Munipalli mandal. Bal Raju, who had joined duty just seven months ago, was addressing a power outage on Friday morning when he was fatally shocked due to a sudden power supply. He became entangled in the wires and died on the pole.

Bal Raju, a resident of Sangareddy town, was appointed as a junior lineman in October last year. His unexpected death has left his family, including his sister and parents, in deep sorrow. His father works as a sanitation worker in Sangareddy Municipality.

Upon learning of the incident, electricity officials arrived at the scene and have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
