Landslide strikes northern India, national highway blocked

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was blocked after a landslide struck in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

This happened at Kunfer Chanderkote area in Ramban district on July 3.

Visuals showed the rubble crumbling down a hill and onto the road. A massive amount of debris fell off and blocked the path completely. Fortunately, there weren’t any vehicles in the area when this happened. As per the officials, the landslide led to one lane of the highway being blocked. However, traffic movement continued on the other lane of the highway. “The traffic was playing smoothly through the two-lane road,” officials said.
