Leopard chases wild boar, both rescued after falling into well in northern India
A leopard that was chasing a wild boar ended up falling into a well in northern India’s Rajasthan. Both animals were subsequently rescued as well.
This happened in Chittorgarh district of the state on June 10.
Visuals showed the boar and the leopard inside the well. While the big cat held onto a wire that was laid down the well, the boar remained still and at one end. At one point, the boar came in contact with the leopard which led the latter to growl and scare it away.
The rescue officials reached the spot as heavy rainfall lashed the area. But the rain could not deter them from saving these animals. The boar was taken out with the help of a net. The animal was a bit restless but it could be subdued with the help of a net. Among other things, a rope ladder was also used in this rescue operation. The boar was taken away after being captured and the leopard was also subsequently rescued. The big cat was seen running away from the area and into the wild after being taken out of the well. The whole rescue operation lasted for two hours.
