A group of local residents risked their lives to save four school children and two women from the grips of a sudden flash flood in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident took place at Kalar Mohra area of Mendhar on April 29.

Visuals showed against the backdrop of a tumultuous flood, water rushed fiercely across the road, its currents swift.

Amidst the chaos, a group of local residents rallied together, forming a human chain as they extended ropes to reach out to stranded women and children.
With unwavering determination etched on their faces, they braved the elements, their united efforts a beacon of hope amidst the raging waters.
