Loyal dog leads rescue teams to her trapped pups amidst flood chaos in southern India

Mother dog’s silent plea led police to rescue trapped pups amidst flood crisis in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place at Munneru River near Nandigama town of NTR district on July 30.

Visuals showed a significant amount of water accumulated inside a house after the flood. Some of the dog’s puppies were trapped inside so some police women rescued the mother dog and brought the puppies out, saving their lives.

According to police the dog reached to them and spent the entire day roaming around them. Observing the dog’s behavior, the staff became curious and decided to follow her. To their astonishment, she led them to a house where her puppies were trapped. The rescue teams promptly intervened and successfully saved the stranded pups, thanks to the courageous and intelligent actions of the mother dog.

Flash floods in the Munneru River snapped road connectivity between Vijayawada and Hyderabad as the NH-65 remained below a sheet of water on Friday. Villagers of Ithavaram and neighboring habitations in Nandigama mandal, which were marooned in the flash floods, complained that no alert was issued in advance so that they could move to safety. It is suspected that several upstream tanks might have suffered breaches, resulting in flash floods.
The overflowing river forced the district administration and the police to stop vehicular movement on NH-65 between Vijayawada and Hyderabad for the last 24 hours.
