Massive fire breaks out in eastern India, several shops gutted

A massive fire broke out in western India’s West Bengal leading to several shops being burnt.

This incident took place in Durgachak, Haldia on April 19.

Visuals showed the harrowing fire which broke out in the area. The flames erupted on the side of a road and it quickly took a serious form. The inferno spread across a distance and it caught one of the hoardings, with portions of it falling down as it was being burnt. Thick black smoke emanated from the area. According to a report, the fire spread to several shops which were spread across this space.

Around 10 of such shops were gutted in the flames and five fire tenders rushed to the spot after receiving information about this. Following a prolonged effort, they were able to bring the fire under control.
