Due to cyclone Biparjoy, several parts of Gujarat had already suffered significant loss of life. To prevent further damage in the future, the decision was made to demolish the Doordarshan tower.

Keeping the well-being of the people in mind, the Gujarat government demolished the tower and intends to reconstruct it in the future.
