Officials rescue four trapped in flash flood in northern India

This incident happened by the Ujh River in Rajbagh, Kathua on February 20.
Visuals showed the rescue operation in progress. A crane was used to pick the labourers up from the flooded area. The current of the water was very strong and the labourers were trapped in the middle of the flooded region. A crane, which had a rescue tube attached to it, was lowered to pick up the labourers. One of the labourers who were rescued, held on to the crane’s hook hole, slipping into the hole and was brought out of the flooded region.
As per a report, the water level of the river rose rapidly due to heavy rainfall the night before and the labourers along with the driver of a vehicle got trapped in the same. Upon receiving this information, the police and SDRF officials executed a joint operation to save the lives of those trapped and were successfully able to do so. Pradeep Kumar led the SDRF team’s rescue operation and two out of the four rescued were identified as Surjeet Lal and Kamal Kumar.
