Officials rescue people after fire breaks out at chemical godown in southern India

A massive fire at a chemical godown in southern India’s Telangana led to the death of seven people and several others being injured.

This incident happened on the first floor of a building located in Bazarghat, Nampally area of Telangana’s Hyderabad on November 13.

 

Visuals showed the horrifying scenes of the destruction caused by the fire. The flames spread all over the area and a couple of motorcycles were among the things seen being gutted in the fire. There was smoke all around as expected with such a big fire breaking out. Fire brigade officials had arrived at the spot and were seen rescuing the victims of the building with the help of ladders. They also sprayed water on the fire to put it out but the raging flames seemingly were stronger and hence, it was quite a tough task.

In another visual, a child and two women were seen getting rescued from the building.

According to a report, the fire broke out from a spark which came while repairing a car. The chemical barrels kept nearby caught fire which led to this massive accident.

The fire brigade rushed to the spot and put out the flames. Two teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also arrived at the spot and rescued 21 people in all. The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
