Rapid response by fire services quells massive fire at sweet shop in northern India

A team of Fire Services personnel  rushed to the scene in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh upon receiving alarming reports of a fierce blaze engulfing multiple shops on the highway.

The incident took place at Sahu Sweet House in Sarasaul ,Maharajpur area in Kanpur on May 2.

Visuals showed in one shop, a fierce fire blazed, sending dark smoke into the air. People hurried around in a panic as flames engulfed the surroundings. In another visual explosion of cylinders were also seen.

The fire broke out at Sahu Sweet House, situated on the outskirts of Sarsaul, sending plumes of smoke billowing into the sky, causing panic among local residents and shopkeepers. Promptly responding to the distress call, the fire brigade under the leadership of the Kanpur CFO, mobilized a total of 5 units from FS Jajmau, Mirpur, Narwal, to the scene of the incident.

The firefighters, displaying exemplary courage and dedication, battled the inferno tirelessly, braving the intense heat and thick smoke. Their coordinated efforts ensured that the blaze was brought under control before it could spread further, preventing any casualties or significant damage to nearby properties.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, suspected to be a result of an electrical malfunction or a cooking mishap. Meanwhile, the local administration has lauded the swift response of the fire brigade, emphasizing the importance of timely intervention in mitigating such emergencies.

Residents and shop owners expressed relief and gratitude for the prompt action taken by the fire services, acknowledging their invaluable contribution in safeguarding lives and property. As normalcy returns to the area, efforts are underway to assess the extent of the damage and provide necessary assistance to those affected by the incident.
