Snow covers northern India, clearance work underway

Snow has completely covered Kulgam, located in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir as efforts to clear it were underway.

Clearance work to remove the snow from the roads was done on January 30.

Visuals showed excavators at work as people from the Gulmarg Development Authority cleared the snow. Several vehicles took out the snow from the road and sprayed it away in an attempt to clear the path.

It was learnt that Kulgam has received five inches of snow but its upper areas of Aharbal and Damhal Hanjipora have been covered by snow, upto two feet deep.
