The incident took place at Dargah Square in the Raidurgam area of Hyderabad on May 30.
Visuals showed a speeding car hurtling down the road when it suddenly collided with two bikers, throwing them to the ground and leaving them severely injured.
In a tragic incident today, a high-speed car crash at Dargah Square in the Raidurgam area resulted in serious injuries to two individuals. The accident, captured on CCTV, occurred at around six o’clock this morning when a car driven by software employees under the influence of alcohol jumped a red signal and collided with a bike.
The car, reportedly speeding from Raidurg towards Mehdipatnam, was driven recklessly, according to eyewitness accounts. Locals immediately informed authorities, leading to the detention of the driver by Raidurgam Police. Two other software employees in the car at the time managed to flee the scene.
The victims, identified as Kantha Rao and Satyanarayana, sustained critical injuries and are currently in a coma. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are receiving intensive care.
Authorities have taken the driver into custody for questioning and are conducting a manhunt for the other two occupants of the car. The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the prevalence of drunk driving among young professionals.
Local residents expressed their frustration over the recurring incidents of reckless driving in the area and called for stricter enforcement of traffic laws. The Raidurgam Police have vowed to increase patrols and implement stringent measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
