This incident took place in Haspura in Aurangabad district on January 22.
Visuals showed the wedding guests donate blood. They happily donated blood at the wedding. The marriage ceremony also took place with the customary rituals take place. According to a report, the marriage was between Aneesh and Simran, who belonged to the Arrah district. Both Aneesh and Simran are social workers and they sought to make their marriage a memorable occasion by asking the invited guests and relatives to donate blood instead of giving gifts. As a matter of fact, the appeal for blood donation was even made on their wedding cards. And the reaction?
More than 70 people, who attended the wedding, donated blood as was requested and did so with a lot of happiness and cheer. For many, it was a first-time experience and they could not have asked for a better occasion to do such a thing. Dr Rakesh Ranjan of the Nirmalya Blood Bank in Patna arranged for the blood donation camp and it was not just memorable because people donated blood. The greater impact of it was that people were made aware of the need for doing so.
