Violent assault on shop owners by alleged Indian political party supporters sparks outrage in northern India
In a shocking incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a couple, identified as Ramu and Sita Devi, were brutally assaulted by a group of individuals allegedly affiliated with the Political Party.
The incident took place in Ghaziabad on May 21.
Visuals showed how the couple was getting beaten up by the assailants ruthlessly from getting slapped to kicked the couple was badly injured.
Ramu and Sita Devi, who run a paan (betel leaf) shop in the area, reportedly faced the wrath of the assailants after Ramu requested payment for goods. The couple, known for their modest livelihood, were subjected to physical violence, with Sita Devi even enduring slaps while her husband, Ramu, was beaten with sticks.
The assault, which occurred amidst rising tensions and economic challenges, has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for justice. While a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed, there are concerns among the local community regarding the likelihood of effective action being taken against the perpetrators, given their alleged political affiliations.
