Woman, two children jump from moving train, saved by alert cop in central India

A brave cop was seen saving a woman and children from coming under a moving train in central India’s Madhya Pradesh.

The incident took place at Ujjain Junction Railway Station on May 14.

Visuals, captured on a CCTV camera, showed a child jumping off a moving train followed by another. A cop ran towards the two children to rescue them and pull them away from the train.

A few seconds later, a woman also jumped off the train and was about to slip under the moving train. Fortunately for her, the alert cop was able to pull her away as well.

A man standing inside the train threw a bag on the platform that was collected by the woman who had a narrow escape a few seconds ago.

Speaking to Newslions, SHO RS Mahajan of the Government Railway Police, said GRP constable Mahesh Kushwaha posted at the Ujjain railway station saved a woman and her childrens’ life. The three had boarded the wrong train, 22176 (Jaipur Nagpur Weekly SF Express), and resorted to jumping off the moving locomotive. However, the presence of mind and bravery displayed by the cop helped the trio live to tell the tale.

The terrified woman was explained and made to sit after giving information about the correct train.
