Baby elephant rescued from kitchen in northeastern India

A baby elephant was rescued from a kitchen in northeastern India’s Assam.

The incident happened in Chirang district of the state on December 27.

Visuals showed the officials trying to guide the baby pachyderm in the dark. It was also fed from a bottle of milk. The baby elephant was also seen walking around in an area surrounded by forest officials. It grunted as it strolled around the area.

According to a report, forest officials have suspected that the elephant calf was separated from its herd. It then reportedly followed a herd of cows into a paddy field and entered the property, where it sneaked into the kitchen. Kuklung forest division officials came to the rescue of the elephant and it was later handed over to officials of the Banhbari range.
