A child was born with hair and a wart on its back in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.

The incident reportedly happened in the Community Health Center, Bawan village of Hardoi district on December 28.

Visuals showed a massive black patch of skin that covered the child’s body. The patch had hair as well as a wart on it as well.

According to a report, the child was born at the Bawan Community Health Centre (CHC) and it was a normal delivery. But the paramedical staff observed that a wart and hair had grown on the child’s body. As a matter of fact, 70 percent of the hair covered the child’s back.

Upon examination, it was found that the child is suffering from Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevus. It would now be sent for treatment in Lucknow under the National Child Health Guarantee Scheme. Both mother and child are healthy after the delivery.  Reportedly, a crowd had gathered at the hospital to see the child.

Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevus is a skin condition under which there is a dark, noncancerous skin patch (nevus) which is made up of pigment-producing cells called melanocytes.
