A chilling moment has come to the fore of a crude bomb being hurled at a street rally organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in eastern India’s West Bengal.

This incident happened in the Bhagwanpur area of East Midnapore district on May 17.

Visuals captured the moment when the bomb was hurled at the rally. An explosion is heard with smoke seen later on in the area and the blast left people panicked. The people in the area were seen running around as chaos ensued following this incident. According to a report, the BJP workers who organised this rally, claimed that this was done by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) party.

This accusation was made by the West Bengal BJP president Dr Sukanto Majumdar. Earlier, seven people died and several others were left injured after a blast took place at an illegal fire cracker unit in Egra in the same district.
