Cylinder blast rocks roadside eatery in northern India, youth loses life while trying to make video

In a shocking incident, a youth died as he was recording the video of a fire which broke out at a ‘dhaba’ in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh.

This happened in Bilhaur Kotwali area of Kanpur district on April 6.

Visuals showed the cylinder blast at the dhaba which had caught fire. The explosion intensified the flames and people who had gathered in the area panicked as this took place. The ones standing close to the ‘dhaba’ quickly moved away in a bid to save their lives but we later know that not everyone was able to escape. As per a report, a young man, identified as Nikhil died on the spot after the cylinder exploded as he sustained serious injuries.

Two others also were seriously injured and were rushed to the Community Health Centre for treatment. One of the two included an elderly person and they were later taken to the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital in Kanpur. Ajay Trivedi, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) from Bilhaur said that the ‘dhaba’ belonged to a man named Jeetu Baheliya and he is nowhere to be found after the explosion happened.
