Family betrayal in southern India: daughter-in-law plots murder for insurance payout

A sinister plot to cash in on an insurance policy has led to a brutal attack on a family in the bustling locality of southern India’s Telangana.

The incident took place in Begambazar in Hyderabad on May 10.

Visuals showed the husband brutally beaten up and the family trying really hard to save themselves. After the whole family was left to die on the streets neighbours tried coming for rescue.

Ganga, the matriarch of the family, held a substantial life insurance policy, making her the target of a deadly conspiracy orchestrated by her own daughter-in-law.

The shocking events unfolded when Rameshwaram, Ganga’s son, and Ganga herself were ambushed in their home. The assailants, allegedly including Rameshwaram’s wife and her relatives, aimed to murder Ganga to claim the insurance payout. The attackers believed that with Ganga out of the way, they would be able to collect the substantial sum assured by her insurance.

Rameshwaram sustained serious injuries while trying to protect his mother from the assailants. Ganga, though shaken, survived the attack and is currently recovering under medical supervision.

Investigators have detained several suspects and are probing the extent of the conspiracy. This incident has highlighted the dark side of familial relationships, where greed can lead to betrayal and violence.
