Fire officials rescue Nilgai after it falls into well in northern India
Officials of the fire unit in Salon in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh came to the rescue of a Nilgai which had fallen into a well.
This incident happened in Pure Bargadi village of Rae Bareli district of the state on April 30.
Visuals showed the Nilgai inside the well. The animal, without a way to escape, roamed about in circles before it was rescued. The fire officials rushed to the spot to save the animal’s life. They tied ropes around the Nilgai’s body and later also tied it to a tree near the well. Using a thick bamboo stick for maintaining balance and stability, the officials pulled the animal out of the well.
The Nilgai panicked and threw its legs around as it was being pulled up and the officials, after a lot of effort, were able to successfully rescue the animal. The Nilgai, after being taken out of the well, was seen trying to run away but was unable to as it was still tied to the ropes that were tied to a tree.
