Five feared dead after buildings collapse in northern India

Atleast five people are said to have died after two residential buildings collapsed in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

This happened in the Bani area of Kathua district on July 19.

 

Visuals showed attempts being made to rescue people trapped at one of these houses. Army Men along with locals were seen at the spot as they lifted out the debris to save those who were trapped. According to a report, authorities have stated that these houses collapsed due to heavy rainfall. Belonging to Mustaq Ahmed and Abdul Qayum, these houses have reportedly trapped five people, including children, under the debris. The rescue operation was underway to save those trapped. The bodies of Mohammad Arif and Tabseem Bano have been discovered by the officials while they continue to look for the bodies of Zareen Begum, Sahabaz and Arbaz.
