Flights diverted after thunderstorm, heavy rain strike airport in northern India

Several flights towards the Indira Gandhi International Airport in northern India’s Delhi were diverted after rain and hailstorm struck.

This incident happened on May 25.

Visuals showed the stormy weather at the airport. The strong winds gushed through the area with heavy rain accompanying it.

According to a report, the weather started getting worse in the evening and initially, no changes had been made in the flight schedules. But as the night progressed, some problems arose in case of landing flights at the airport.

Hence, several flights which had come from Rajkot, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai and Bengaluru towards Delhi, were diverted toward Jaipur in northern India’s Rajasthan.
