Gold concealed in detergent seized by police from airport in southern India

Officials of the Hyderabad customs seized gold which was in powder form and concealed in flour/oats/detergent from two passengers in different cases, in southern India’s Telangana.

This happened at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on October 7.

Visuals showed one of the officers taking out the powder and putting it on a plate. He then adds water to mix the solution and after stirring it for a while, he powers away the detergent, leaving the detergent behind.

The passengers were travelling from Dubai and were intercepted at the airport and a search of their luggage led to the discovery of this. Gold weighing 454 grams and worth Rs 26.64 lakh ($32,002.47) was found from these passengers and it was seized.
