Helicopters loaded with relief material for victims of flood in southern India

Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) were loaded with relief materials by Indian Coast Guard officials to be distributed among victims of flood that has wreaked havoc in southern India’s Tamil Nadu.

This happened on December 20.

Visuals showed relief materials being loaded on one of these helicopters. These relief materials would then be distributed among the ones who are stranded in the flood-affected areas. It was learnt that the first Advanced Light Helicopter of the Indian Coast Guard carried 350 kgs (771.618 lbs) of relief material. The second ALH carry the same amount of relief material was set to be dispatched soon. Tirunelveli and Tuticorin out of the southern districts of Tamil Nadu have been badly affected as a result of the heavy rainfall which has resulted in a lot of flood.

More than 1000 people have been rescued from these flood-affected areas with the rescue officials continuously at work. There have been reports of around 10 people dying as well as human life has been severely disrupted by the inclement weather.
