Herd of elephants spreads panic, strays in residential area in northeastern India

A large herd of elephants was seen straying around in a residential area in northeastern India’s Assam.

The incident took place in Balijan village of Sonitpur district on November 24.

Visuals showed the pachyderms moving around in the open field while drinking water from a small swamp along the way.

A few locals were seen present at the incident spot, throwing stones at the big mammals.
