IAS officer involved in Drunk driving incident, police allegedly ignore complaint in southern India

An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Ministry of Transport and Highways was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run incident in southern India’s Telangana while under the influence of alcohol.

The incident took place near Nallakunta, Hyderabad on May 18.

Visuals showed the officer’s car collided with a motorcycle, and liquor bottles were found inside the vehicle at the scene.

Despite local residents filing a complaint with the police, their concerns were allegedly ignored. The community has expressed outrage over the perceived inaction by law enforcement officials regarding the incident.
