The Indian Air Force (IAF) officials delivered relief material to those people through helicopters who were stranded in the flooded regions in southern India’s Tamil Nadu.

These helicopters operated between Madurai and Tuticorin on December 20.

Visuals showed the officials delivering essential items to the ones in the flooded areas. The men inside these helicopters hurled the bags containing the relief material on the terraces of the buildings where these people were present. One of these helicopters were also seen hovering over a heavily-flooded area where people stood in anticipation of the goods. A report states that these helicopters have delivered around 5.5 tonnes of supplies in the morning on December 20.

The southern districts of Tamil Nadu–Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Tenkasi have been heavily flooded after massive rainfall pounded the state. Several people in these regions have been affected as a result of the incessant downpour.
