Indian army, air force officials evacuate pregnant woman in critical condition amid severe weather conditions in northern India

The Indian army officers, in collaboration with the air force personnel, evacuated a pregnant woman, who was in critical condition amid heavy snowfall, in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident reportedly happened in the isolated Nawapachi area of Kishtwar district on February 9.

Visuals showed the officials carrying the pregnant woman on a stretcher as they walked on a path surrounded by ice from the heavy snowfall. They then helped the lady into a helicopter from where she was reportedly taken to the District Hospital.

Several areas in northern India’s Jammu and Kashmir have experienced harsh weather conditions this winter and with most roads cut off due to heavy snowfall, the Indian army has been regularly coming to the aid of people in the area.
